Some great news as Adam Stevens, our Administration Apprentice, is now a European Pool Champion!
Adam was a part of the England U23 team that won the EEPF European Pool Team Championship. The tournament was held in Killarney Ireland in late February. Around 70 teams competed across a number of age groups. Adam competed in the U23 section against 10 other teams from Europe. The tournament started with a round robin format with the top 4 teams qualifying for the semi-finals. Adam’s team, England B, qualified 2nd which meant a fixture against England A for a place in the final. Adam’s team won this 8-4 with Adam winning a decisive frame with the scores tied at 4-4. This led to a final against Ireland A, which Adams team won 8-5, again with Adam winning a key frame with the score at 5-4.
Running alongside the team competition was the singles. Adam competed in this too with great distinction, losing 7-6 in the quarter-final.
Well done Adam!
Sights are now set on the 2024 World Championships which are being held in Blackpool in April!
