Chief Engineer retires after 22 years at Slater Harrison

“Last week saw the retirement of another long serving and valued member of staff. Steve Fairbrother, our former chief engineer has finally decided to hang up his tools.

Steve joined Slater Harrison in 1998 when the company acquired the Sulzer laminator and the Schneider Guillotine from Congleton Board with five others  and immediately began to install the machines he already knew inside out from his previous role. These installations and recruitment revolutionised the laminating and finishing divisions in the business.

Steve’s endeavours over the past two decades are evident all over the business, from the condition of the outside of the building to the vast array of equipment under its rooves. His alternative ways of thinking have ensured the right methods and solutions are in place to stand the tests of time.

We all wish Steve a long, happy and well deserved retirement.”
