For the first time since 2019, Fine Art Trade Guild hosted The Guild Weekend on the 14th & 15th of May at the Crowne Plaza in Stratford. The weekend included expert framing workshops, artist showcases, competition displays, the master’s dinner and of course the industry awards.
Fine Art Trade Guild is the governing body for all framing and mountboard standards. ColourMount is a long-standing member of the Guild, and therefore adheres to their guidelines including the Four Levels of Framing and Quality Standards for mountboard.
Our partnership with the Guild continued this year, as ColourMount sponsored two awards; the “Up and Coming Framer” of the year, as well as the Best Hand Cut Mount Design. Our Managing Director James Braddock attended the event to present the awards.
Janneke Alkema was the winner of The Up and Coming Framer Award, this year’s theme was ‘Free-thinking’. As well as a glass trophy, Janneke also won a £250 voucher from ColourMount!
Jasminas Braticius was the winner of The Best Hand Cut Mount Design, the theme for this year was ‘Street or Graffiti Art’. Jasminas was awarded with a handmade glass trophy.
