Colourmount to sponsor Fine Art Trade Guild Awards

Fine Art Trade Guild is the governing body for all framing and mountboard standards. Colourmount is a long-standing member of the Guild, and therefore adheres to their guidelines including the Four Levels of Framing and Quality Standards for Mountboard.

For the first time since 2019, Fine Art Trade Guild are able to host The Guild Weekend on the 14th & 15th of May at the Crowne Plaza in Stratford. The schedule for the weekend includes expert framing workshops, artist showcases, competition displays, the master’s dinner and of course the industry awards.

Our partnership with Fine Art continues this year, as Colourmount are sponsoring two awards; the Up and Coming Framer of the year, as well as the Best Hand Cut Mount Design.

The Up and Coming Framer Award has the theme of ‘Free-thinking’ this year, and will be awarded to the best piece whilst utilizing Colourmount Mountboard. All picture framers will have less than 5 years of experience to be eligible. As well as a glass trophy, a £250 voucher from Colourmount is up for grabs!

The Best Hand Cut Mount Design is ‘Street or Graffiti Art’ themed this year, and focuses on mount design. A handmade glass trophy is awarded to the winner.

More information on both awards can be found here

Our Colourmount team here at Slater Harrison is looking forward to the much-anticipated weekend, and we can’t wait to see the entries to both awards!
