Plastic lined paperboards are traditionally used to achieve water, vapour and grease resistant barriers. The use of plastic lined paperboard also has some disadvantages, particularly in terms of its environmental impact.
The plastic coating is not biodegradable and can contribute to waste and pollution. Moreover, the recycling of plastic lined paperboard can be challenging, as the paper and plastic components need to be separated before they can be recycled.
At Slater Harrison, we offer recyclable, water based ‘Green Chemistry’ solutions, which contain no VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) or solvents.
Applications include heat sealable food cartons and detergents, as well as functional coatings such as anti-slip and anti-static.
We coat our own paper wrappers, so all our paper and board stock sheets are supplied using recyclable protective liners
