The end of 2022 saw us make a considerable donation to charity rather than sending Christmas cards.
We chose to donate to the Macclesfield golf clubs captains charity. Paul Bowden (Captain MGC and Sales Manager at Slater Harrison) chose Seashell trust as his chosen charity because of the excellent work Slater Harrison help towards.
Seashell is a Manchester based charity dedicated to providing a creative, happy and secure environment for young people with complex learning disabilities and additional communication needs. The organisation offers schooling for those aged 2-19, specialist further college education for 19–25-year-olds, 17 residential home-from-home care houses, as well as sports, health and wellbeing programs. Their programs strive to build confidence and self-esteem, and to promote independence.
We have recently partnered with Seashell, whereby a number of college students have gained weekly exposure to our work environment by helping the team in our Bollington production mill. The students pack orders for school deliveries, as well as collate and package border rolls, relieving bottlenecks in production.
